China's pork prices recede significantly

 

 

The continuous increase in the price of pork has ceased on May 25, peaking at RMB16.34 per kilogramme (kg), according to statistics released by the Beijing Bureau of Agriculture on May 29.

 

The pork price receded significantly for the first time on May 29, falling to RMB14.65/kg, RMB2/kg less than the highest price on May 25, but still 84 percent higher than RMB7.70/kg in the same period of 2006. The pork price is expected to continue experiencing a steady decrease in the near future.
