China methionine imports almost unchanged in April
China's methionine imports in April totalled 9,062 tonnes, almost unchanged from March.
For the period from January to April 2006, China's methionine imports totalled 26,758 tonnes worth about US$55.484 million.
Combined import volume from Germany and Belgium totalled 5,699 tonnes, up by over 1,600 tonnes compared with the previous month.
Imports from Japan totalled about 2,496 tonnes, down by 1,431 tonnes from March.
Note: In April, China's net methionine import volume totalled 6,762 tonnes, with 2,300 tonnes out of the total 9,062 tonnes re-exported to other countries.
