Canada's rapeseed crushing down 10% in Jan-Apr 2013

 

 

Canada's rapeseed crushing during January-April 2013 was at 2.26 million tonnes, a drop of 10% compared to 2.51 million tonnes of the same period last year.

 

Canada's rapeseed crush in April dropped below previous month but still rose above January and February crush volumes. Canadian oil mills crushed 577,811 tonnes in April 2013, down from 593,001 tonnes a month ago, and down from 614,015 tonnes in April 2012, Statistics Canada data showed.  

 

In April 2013, Canada's rapeseed oil production declined to 252,302 tonnes, down from 261,608 tonnes a month ago. Total rapeseed oil production during January-April this year was at 987,952 tonnes, down 12% from 1.13 million tonnes at the same time last year.  

 

Rapeseed meal output was at 341,098 tonnes in April 2013, down from 354,313 tonnes a month ago. Total rapeseed meal production during January-April this year was at 1.34 million tonnes, down 6% from 1.43 million tonnes at the same time last year.
