Kazakhstan ships out 10.6 million tonnes grain
In the current marketing year, Kazakhstan has exported 10.6 million tonnes of grain, Kazakhstan Agriculture Ministry said on Tuesday (May 29).
"In the current marketing year, as of May 24, Kazakhstan shipped about 10.6 million tonnes of grain taking into account flour in grain equivalent to export. This indicator is a record," the ministry stated.
According to the Ministry 8.9 million tonnes of grain has been shipped in 2007-08 marketing year, which is 19% less than in the current year.
"During the period from September 2011-May 2012, the monthly shipments exceeded one million tonnes. Another 4.4 million tonnes of grain is left to be shipped to realise the export potential of 15 million tonnes," stated in the press release.
