Sara Lee names executive vice president

Sara Lee Corp. announced that it has appointed Margaret M. Foran to executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective June 30, 2008.

Foran, 53, will have responsibility for the company's worldwide legal activities. She will also lead Sara Lee's Global Business Practices, risk management, internal audit and insurance activities, as well as environmental, safety and sustainability efforts.

She will report to Brenda C. Barnes, chairman and chief executive officer, Sara Lee Corp.

Foran most recently served as senior vice president, associate general counsel and corporate secretary for Pfizer, Inc., the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company with more than US$48 billion in sales.
