Argentina's March corn exports up 45 percent on-year; wheat up 22 percent

 

 

Argentina exported 1,283,674 tonnes of corn in March, up 45 percent from the 884,746 tonnes shipped a year earlier, the latest Agriculture Secretariat data show.

 

Peru was the leading importer, buying 176,122 tonnes, while Morocco imported 165,519 tonnes. Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Spain and Portugal were also major buyers of Argentine corn.

 

 

Wheat exports

 

Argentina also exported 1,031,947 tonnes of wheat in March, up 22 percent from the 845,198 tonnes shipped during the same month a year earlier.

 

Brazil was the leading importer of Argentine wheat in March, purchasing 600,444 tonnes. Malaysia followed, importing 61,041 tonnes of Argentine wheat.
