Chinese suppliers lift prices in view of stronger methionine demand

Prices of methionine moved higher during the week ending May 28.

As the poultry sector recovered gradually, methionine suppliers, who were encouraged by a stronger European market, lifted price quotes of late in view of growing demands ahead.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were mainly around RMB27.50/kg.

Ample local methionine output, together with the cautious mood of buyers will limit the upward potential of China's market.

RMB1=US$0.1632 (May 29)
