Ukraine to revise grain storage certification
According to an agreement reached by the country's agricultural officials, Ukraine will simplify a system of grain storage certification and widen the validity of the certificate.
The discussion was between the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysiazhniuk, and the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Jorge Zukoski, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian agricultural business.
The sides discussed Ukraine's agricultural development and optimisation of Ukrainian legislation with international requirements, the press service of the agriculture and food ministry said in a statement on Friday (May 25).
"I am pleased that we are actively cooperating with the American Chamber of Commerce. We discuss the pace of the agricultural sector and its adaptation to the European and world markets. We exchange experiences, make suggestions, remarks and work out a particular document, which makes it possible to harmonise the standards with the EU, adapt legislation and make this legislation and standards improve the quality of agricultural products and increase production," the minister noted.
The Ukrainian and American sides also focused on development of the domestic hop-growing, which needs further consideration. Thus, the minister noted that the producers of hop and beer should hold a joint meeting and offer the best option for the industry's development.
