More Vietnamese seafood exporters approved by EU
EU has approved 30 more Vietnamese domestic aquatic enterprises to export their products, according to the National Agro- forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (Nafiqad).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) asked Nafiqad and the Department of Aquaculture in co-ordination with the Department of Fisheries Resources Exploitation and Protection to find solutions so as to supply the aquaculture and fishing area codes to meet the requirements of EU.
MARD also recommended aquatic enterprises to abide by EU's regulations as aqua-products can be rejected if they do not meet quality's requirements.
EU is the biggest importer of Vietnam's aquatic products which accounts for 25.4 percent of its total fisheries export turnover.
Last year, EU imported 350,000 tonnes of aquatic products from Vietnam.
