Vietnam yet to fulfill 50-percent of vaccination plan
Vietnamese authorities have yet to fulfill 50-percent of the national vaccination programme which kicked off early last month, the Department of Animal Health (DAH) said Wednesday (May 27).
Authorities have to date vaccinated 103.46 million fowls since the first phase of the national vaccination programme.
DAH deputy head Hoang Van Nam said the figure includes 53.35 million ducks and 50.11 chickens.
At present, bird flu is still striking two Mekong Delta provinces of Dong Thap and Vinh Long, which have not yet experienced the 21-day period without outbreak.
This year, Vietnam planned to spend around VND160 billion (US$9 million) on importing 250 million doses of bird flu vaccine, mainly from China.
