Philippine corn production to intensify by 12 percent on-year
Philippines' corn production will rise by 12 percent to 7.3 million tonnes in 2007-08 over the last season, due to expanded acreage and high corn prices, the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) said.
FAS said that the Philippine food and feed corn consumption will prompt production growth.
However, FAS forecasts that corn production growth will slow down in the succeeding year due to post-harvest handling losses.
