South Korea to build grain storage in Sudan
South Korean president Lee Myung-bak disclosed Monday the government's plan to build a farmland in Sudan to establish overseas grain storage facilities.
Lee noted the economic growth potential of Sudan, which has ample energy and mineral resources. The president also suggested that the two countries could expand economic exchange and cooperation.
South Korea first opened the idea of building grain storage abroad in April, when Lee instructed the Cabinet to map out measures to build facilities to facilitate food aid shipments to North Korea.
