China's Anhui Province To Auction 100,000 MT Feed Grain
China's Anhui province will hold a grain auction to sell about 100,000 metric tons of old rice and wheat in early June, an auction official in Anhui said on Thursday.
"The date of the auction is June 2. The total amount of old grain for sale is about 100,000 tons," said an official from Anhui Grain Wholesale Market.
The quality of the old grain is only suitable for feed use or ethanol production, said the official, adding the grain was from local government reserves.
Bidders at the auction have to be domestic ethanol and feedstuff producers, and be authorized to buy feed quality grain from government reserves, the official said.
China's government holds grain auctions each year to rotate old grain with new crop grain.
