Nutriad sponsors swine symposium in Poland

Nutriad was a Silver Sponsor of the 13th Digestive Physiology in Pigs (DPP) conference, held in Kliczków, Poland from May 19-21, 2015.

The DPP symposia are organised every three years at various venues in Europe and the United States, and function as a platform to present both basic scientific as well as applied studies on nutrition, intestinal function and gut health in pigs.

Erik Visser, Nutriad CEO, said, "Nutriad is proud to be associated with this prestigious conference that creates a great platform to share the latest scientific insights, and the way how Nutriad translates that knowledge into practical solutions for swine producers all over the world."

For this year's meeting, the local organising committee partnered with the Scientific Society of Biomedicine and Veterinary in Poland and the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine in Berlin and Warsaw. The conference, held at the Kliczków castle, was attended by about 400 participants, both academics and industry experts.

Tim Goossens, Business development manager Digestive Performance, and Olga Siejak, Regional sales manager in Poland, represented Nutriad at the symposium. Dr. Goossens presented a poster entitled "Looking for ways to relief PED using precision delivery coated butyrate", focusing on recent research conducted by the University of Taiwan, on the effect of ADIMIX®Precision on PEDv-infected sows and piglets.

Dr. Goossens said, "The DPP offers a great opportunity to discuss recent insights in porcine intestinal health, and especially its relationship to gut microbial composition, which is a research topic that is gaining a lot of attention over recent years".
