EU's feed production in 2014 expected to fall
The European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC) says EU's compound feed production inched down 0.5% in 2013 compared to 2012, and a further drop is expected in 2014.
FEFAC says the extremely fragile economic situation in the EU will cause the drop in feed production this year.
Compound feed production in the EU (Greece, Malta and Luxembourg excluded) in 2013 was at an estimated level of 153.8 million tonnes. Though cattle and poultry feed production grow 0.8% and 0.6% respectively, pig feed production dropped by 1.7%.
