Ukrainian poultry population up 3.1% in April
In April, the poultry population of Ukraine rose by 3.1% or 5.866 million heads, compared with March, to 196.171 million heads as of May 1, 2011.
Compared with March, the poultry population increased by 8.5% or 6.760 million heads in private farms, and in specialised farms, it fell by 0.8% or 0.894 million heads.
In comparison with May 1, 2010, poultry population rose by 6.4% or 11.844 million heads. In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 12.3% or 11.946 million heads, and in private farms fell by 0.1% or 0.102 million heads.
In March this year, the poultry population fell by 0.8% or 1.560 million heads, compared with February, to 190.305 million heads as of April 1, 2011.
