Ukrainian meat output down 8.7% in April

 

 

In April, Ukraine's meat processing enterprises decreased production of meat and by-products of the first category by 8.7% or 7,585 tonnes to 79,190 tonnes, compared with March, according to reports.

 

In April 2010, production of meat and by-products of the first category grew by 10% or 7,168 tonnes, compared with April 2009. In January-April 2010, production of meat and by-products of the first category increased by 13.4% or 37,253 tonnes, compared with January-April 2009, to 316,221 tonnes.

 

Earlier reports showed that in March meat processing enterprises upped production of meat and by-products of the first category by 14.5% or 11,018 tonnes to 86,775 tonnes, compared with February.

 

In 2009, production of meat and by-products of the first category increased by 0.2% or 1,560 tonnes compared with 2008, at 920,512 tonnes; while in 2008, production of meat and by-products of the first category made up 918,952 tonnes.
