Vietnam's MPC January-April shrimp export up

In the first four months of this year, Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Co (MPC) announced shrimp exports of 8,759 tonnes earning US$107.1 million, up 28.13% in volume and 313.63% in value in comparison with the same period last year. 

The US has become the largest export market of MPC bringing in US$35.6 million, accounting for 33.31% of the total market shares, followed by Japan with US$30.4 million, Korea US$14.11 million followed by the EU and Canada.

In the first quarter, MPC reported gaining profit of VND63.26 billion (US$3 million), of which the profit for the parent company's shareholders was posted at VND63.92 billion (US$3.07 million), increasing by 30.66% on-year.

The company posted accumulative net revenue of VND1.651 trillion (US$79.3 million), up 31.56% on-year.
