Russia's 2012 grain harvest may total 93.4 million tonnes

This year, the general areas of Russia's grain crops will reach about 44.8 million hectares, 1.2 million hectares more than 2011, according to the calculations of the analytical centre of CJSC "Rusagrotrans".

According to the optimistic estimation, the general grain harvest in Russia may total nearly 93.4 million tonnes, the exports - nearly 23 million tonnes, and the moderate estimation - 89.6 million tonnes, the exports - 19 million tonnes, respectively.

In the case of rather significant worsening of the situation related to the drought, the general production volumes may drop to 82 million tonnes, while the exports - 12-13 million tonnes.

As a reminder, according to the forecast of analysts of APK-Inform Agency, in 2012 Russia will reduce the general grain production by 2%.
