Two more Vietnamese seafood exporters receive international safety certification
Vietnam's flourishing seafood industry was given a further boost as two more seafood exporters were granted international food safety certificates by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA).
The Vietnam News Agency reports that Sao Ta Foods and Viet Hai Seafood joined six other Vietnamese seafood companies that have received the GAA's Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification.
The GAA is a non-profit trade association dedicated to ensure responsible fish and shellfish farming and conservation of environmental and social resources.
Presently, BAP is only applied to shrimp products and regulates the product's sanitation and origin
The certification allows exporters to put the BAP seal in their shipments to assure importing countries of a good and quality product.
