Ukrainian grain exports fall 62%

 

 

Ukraine's grain exports fell to 459,319 tonnes in April 2011 from 1.21 million in the same month a year earlier, said Ukrainian analyst UkrAgroConsult on Monday (May 23).

 

UkrAgroConsult said the exports of wheat had fallen to 152,734 tonnes last month from 340,961 tonnes a year ago. Exports of barley fell to 324 tonnes from 561,389 tonnes.

 

Exports of corn rose to 264,508 tonnes this year, from 263,419 tonnes in April 2010.

 

UkrAgroConsult said Ukraine's grain shipments totalled 9.7 million tonnes in the first ten months of this season compared with 19.9 million in 2009/10.
