Pakistan PM orders suspension of wheat exports
Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has suspended export of wheat to take immediate effect due to the increase wheat prices in the domestic market, according to an official statement. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), which met under Aziz chairmanship, took this decision.
The decision was immediately settled on after a detailed review of the wheat situation in Pakistan. The Prime Minister said the country's record wheat crop this year should not pull up the grain's prices and hoarding of wheat and manipulation of market will not be accepted.
