Extensive poultry vaccination across Vietnam in the pipeline

Encouraged by the recent vaccination of chickens against bird flu in the northern Vietnamese province of Ha Tay, a massive inoculation across the country could be scheduled for August 2005.

Vietnam's animal health authorities have already made the proposal to the government.

A national bird flu vaccination of this scale could cost as much as VND 100 billion (US$ 6.33 million).

Animal health officials also plan to use bird flu vaccines made either in China, the Netherlands or France.
