AFMC to seek 150,000 tonnes soybeans in tender May 31

South Korea's state-owned Agricultural and Fishery Marketing Corp. will seek a total of 150,000 tonnes of new crop soybeans in a buy tender to be held 0200-0400 GMT May 31, a Seoul-based trader said Monday.

AFMC will buy six 25,000-tonne cargoes of non-genetically modified optional-origin soybeans to be shipped in 2006, the trader said.

The cargoes are to arrive in South Korea on Feb 10, March 5, April 20, June 10, Aug 5 and Sept 10, 2006, the trader said.

AFMC officials were unavailable for comment.
