Kenya's Githunguri Dairy boosts milk production
Kenya's Githunguri Dairy Farmers Cooperative Society, makers of Fresha milk, has laid out plans to increase production of milk.
Speaking during an annual general meeting held in Githunguri Stadium at the weekend, Githunguri Dairy's chairman Charles Mukora said they were currently producing 200,000 litres of milk per day.
He added that Githunguri Dairy had expanded its production base to Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Garissa, where they are making over 20,000 litres of milk every day.
Mukora also said the company was planning to build a cheese plant at an estimated cost of KES20 million (US$236,681) and an ice bank worth KES40 million (US$473,371).
