US soy exports suffer drop for the week
US soy export for the week of May 9-15, 2008 were at 271,600 tonnes, down 44 percent from the previous week and the previous 4 week average.
However, net sales of soy in the US was up 90 percent from the previous week and 65 percent from the previous 4-week average.
The primary destinations were Mexico 79,900 tonnes, China 66,000 tonnes, Japan 63,400 tonnes, Taiwan 34,900 tonnes, and Indonesia 10,800 tonnes.
Net sales of 486,500 tonnes for 2008/09 delivery were for China 429,000 tonnes, Canada 32,000 tonnes, and Costa Rica 25,500 tonnes.
