Market participants stand for imposition of import duties for soymeal in Ukraine
Despite the fact that today Ukraine takes the TOP place in Europe in gross harvest of soy and is increasing the processing volumes, the share of imported soymeal in Ukraine is significant, said the director of "Kakhovka Protein Agro" Oleg Rudenko on May 17.
According to him, one of the reasons for this situation is the fact that Ukraine is one of the few countries that did not protect itself from external expansion of duty-free imports of soymeal in the country.
O. Rudenko believes that the imposition of duties on imports of soymeal in Ukraine would provide additional revenue to the budget of the state and would support the Ukrainian producer, creating additional jobs.
