Norwegian firm gains permission to resume seafood exports to Russia
Norwegian seafood factory Martin E. Birknes Eftf. AS has been allowed to resume exports of fresh and frozen salmon and trout to Russia after it cleared inspections, Norwegian Food Safety Authority announced last week.
The company was one of the plants banned by Russian inspectors from exporting to Russia in April. Since then, the company has rectified its inadequacies and has been allowed to resume exports to Russia.
Currently, there are nine Norwegian seafood plants permitted to export salmon and salmon trout to Russia. The list includes Leroy Midnor AS, Leroy Aurora AS, Pan Fish, Marine Harvest, Nordlaks, Hollalaks, Salmar and Slakteriet AS.
