Philippines exports corn feed silage to South Korea
The Philippines has sent an initial shipment of 24 tonnes of corn feed silage for cattle to Busan, South Korea.
The shipment, arranged by Department of Agriculture in partnership with corn industry groups, is part of the total 15,000 tonnes of corn feed and grains worth PHP75 million (US$1.82 million) that will be exported to South Korea up to December 2013.
Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala said exporting corn silage would increase farmers' incomes by an average of 20%.
