China methionine market weakens further
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending May 15.
Even though poultry products prices recovered of late, the inventories of broiler and layer remained low due to earlier high culling rates. With demand slack, methionine traders and producers continued to reduce prices to entice buyers.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dipped to RMB27.20-28.20/kg.
Prices are expected to move lower in the coming weeks.
