China's corn demand to reach 199 million tonnes

The corn consumption in China is estimated to reach 199 million tonnes from 2012 to 2013, according to a report from the China National Grain and Oils Information Center (GNGOIC).

GNGOIC forecast the country's corn imports to increase by 500,000 tonnes to six million tonnes during the same period.

Meanwhile, the country's corn plantation area will increase 758,000 hectares, up 2.3% on-year.
