Wisconsin's agricultural exports show increase
Agricultural exports from Wisconsin are up 18% compared with the first three months of 2009, according to Gov. Jim Doyle.
A report released Thursday (May 20) by the governor's office shows that agricultural exports totalled nearly US$450 million for the first quarter of the year. Wisconsin's dairy exports ranked third nationwide behind only California and Washington.
The report shows that the category that includes dairy, eggs and honey led Wisconsin's export growth, gaining 51% over last year. It is valued at US$48 million.
