Philippines seizes double dead pork in local market
Some double dead pork has been seized in a Quezon City market by the Philippine National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) on Tuesday.
Jane Bacayo, NMIS executive director, said the contraband was confiscated at Balintawak market during an operation conducted at around 1 a.m.
Bacayo said the raid was done based on a tip from an informant about the arrival of the double dead meat.
NMIS warned the Philippine public against buying pork that costs only PHP120 (US$2.77) per kilogramme, as cheaper pork could mean it is double dead.
