US beef farmers neutral on animal ID
A national survey by Kansas State University indicates that majority of cow-calf producers are neither endorsing nor disparaging the implementation of a national animal identification system.
The results, gathered from 522 cow-calf producers in 41 states, are something of a surprise.
Producer groups generally are believed to oppose Animal ID, owing to the cost of implementation and concerns that the data they would need to provide wouldn't be safeguarded.
