EW Nutrition has introduced LaktaStart® Abkalbetrunk, a liquid concentrate which increases water consumption after calving.

Calving is related to high losses of liquids, electrolytes and energy. The already weakened organism is strained additionally transitioning to a higher level of metabolism during lactation within only short time. In case of high-performance cows, this level is about three-fold higher.

In order to support the cow during this difficult period, she has to obtain energy, electrolytes, trace elements and vitamins. Due to the high requirement of liquids after calving, a liquid concentrate drink is the most suitable alternative.

LaktaStart^® Abkalbetrunk is easy to handle: just empty the content of the bottle (200 ml) into 20 litres of lukewarm water, and offer it to the cow.

Due to its palatability, LaktaStart^® Abkalbetrunk increases liquid intake after calving. A possible inflation of the rumen and the risk of displacement of the abomasum can be prevented.

With this liquid concentrate, the cow gets electrolytes and an energy boost, 12 necessary vitamins and four of the most important trace elements, amongst others selenium, in a bio-available form.
