Russia set to increase grain supplies to Asia-Pacific
Russia intends to increase grain deliveries to the Asia Pacific region, Viktor Zubkov, first deputy prime minister, said Tuesday (MAY 19), reports the RIA Novosti news service.
"As one of our strategic tasks, we foresee the increase of grain supplies to the Asia Pacific Region countries," he said. "They are rapidly developing, populations there will grow in the years to come, and problems with food supplies will remain."
Zubkov said Russia would consider establishing a Far East grain corridor that would "allow Russian grain to reach the Pacific Ocean."
