Thai food exports forecast up 14 percent this year
Thailand's food industry is set for a steady 14 percent growth this year, particularly in sales of shrimp and processed chicken.
Thailand's food exports are expected to reach US$10.16 billion this year, said Deputy Commerce Minister Suriya Larpwisuthisin, who made the comment on the sides of the World of Food Asia 2005 expo in Thailand.
For the first quarter of this year, Thailand's food exports were valued at $2.439 billion, up 8.64% year-on-year. Shrimp and canned tuna were among the country's key food exports.
