Grain supplies in Ukraine's Crimea lowered by 42%

 
 

As of May 1, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea's large agricultural enterprises stored 189,000 tonnes of grain, a drop of 42.2% from last year, according to the main department of statistics.

 

Wheat stocks in the Crimea totalled 93.3 thousand tonnes (down 62.8% compared to the last year), corn - 13.3 thousand tonnes (down 34.9%), barley - 69.9 thousand tonnes (up 2.1 times).

 

Agrarian enterprises stocked 72.3 thousand tonnes of grains from the general volumes of grain carry-over stocks in the Crimea, including 31.9 thousand tonnes of wheat, 16.3 thousand tonnes of barley, 13.1 thousand tonnes of corn. Granaries and grain processing enterprises stocked 116.7 thousand tonnes of grains.

 

Moreover, as of May 1, 2010, the general sunflower seed stocks in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea totalled 3.9 thousand tonnes, a decrease of 47.1% compared to the same date of 2009.
