Australia Feedlot Cattle Numbers Edge Closer To 1m Mark
The number of Australian cattle in feedlots rose two per cent during the first three months of the year, edging closer to the one million-head mark.
The Australian Lot Feeders' Association says cattle destined for export markets continue to dominate feedlots, with an increase of 19 per cent heading for the Korean market.
The Association says cattle on feed in Queensland dropped by 14 per cent during the quarter, but it is expecting a turn around in coming months.
