China sees lower 2012 major oilseeds yield
This year, the soy harvest in China is seen to hit 13 million tonnes, 7% lower on-year.
The country's rapeseed output is likely to decline 1.5% from 2011 to 12.8 million tonnes this year, according to the China National Grain and Oils Information Center on Wednesday (May 16).
The centre also forecast China's wheat and rice harvests in 2012 at 120.3 million tonnes and 205 million tonnes, up 2% and 2.1% respectively from 2011.
The nation's corn output is predicted to hit a record high of 197.5 million tonnes this year, rising 3% over the previous year, according to the report.
