Russia receives more reports of ASF
The Russian veterinary authorities announced that there is another occurrence of African swine fever (ASF) in Krasnodar Krai.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 56 dated on May 16, 2011.
According to the report, a total of 12 animals were found susceptible to the disease, out of which six cases were identified. The death of five pigs was recorded, and the remaining seven animals were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak is still under investigation.
