Japan lifts all import bans on US poultry

The Japanese agriculture ministry on Monday (May 17) lifted its ban on poultry imports from Pennsylvania, which had been in place since December due to the outbreak of low-pathogenic bird flu in the US state.

The ministry said that it made the decision following a report from the US government that the flu outbreak has been brought under control as a result of measures taken to cope with the situation.

With the latest action, all Japanese bans imposed on US poultry imports have been removed.
