EU considers ban on Indonesian seafood
Processors in Indonesia are cutting production on news of an impending embargo by the EU.
The EU is considering embargo of seafood products from Indonesia due to export violations from a number of exporters.
Indonesia's maritime and fisheries minister, Freddy Numberi led a delegation to Brussels, Belgium and is in negotiations with the EU.
The EU is giving Indonesia until June to show the rules were violated by errant exporters only and not the industry-wide, Hendri Sutandinata, chairman of the Association of Canned Fish Producers (APIKI) said.
