China's Jinshi Group Holding Company's Tianjin Zhong Jin Pharmaceutical Factory will be investing RMB 280 million to establish a new company named Zhongwei Pharmaceutical Co. in Tianjin, China. The company plans to build the world's largest vitamin B1 production base in Tianjin, with its projected output accounting for 50% to 60% of global vitamin B1 output.

With a projected annual production capacity of 3,000 tons of vitamin B1 and 600 tons of vitamin B2, the plant is expected to commence production by the first quarter of 2005. The production base is reportedly built under a "partnership" arrangement with BASF.

Vitamin B1 has been widely used in the clinical treatment of nerve-related disorders. In addition, it has also been extensively utilized in food and feed additives to raise the nutrient value of food and feed products.

Currently, Tianjin Zhong Jin Pharmaceutical Factory is the largest producer of vitamin B1 in Asia, and ranks second in the world.  With its reputable brand name and competitive prices, Tianjin Zhong Jin Pharmaceutical Factory's vitamin B1 products have been exported to over 60 countries worldwide including Europe, United States, Southeast Asia, etc.

The yet built production base is expected to be the largest vitamin B1 production base in the world.
