Brazil's pig, broiler production costs decline

Brazil's production costs of broilers and pigs fell 4.12% and 0.17% respectively, in April.

This is according to data provided by Embrapa Swine and Poultry Concordia (SC).

The cost of production of broilers went down 20.33% compared to a year ago. The drop was mainly driven by lower spending on poultry feed (-21.11% in 2013).

The cost of pig production has dropped by 14.23% during the first four months of 2013, also reflecting a decrease in spending on animal feed (-15.43%).
