Pork Prices in Major Chinese Cities Rose Marginally in April

According to a monitoring market survey of pork prices in China's 36 major cities, prices showed a marginal increase in April. This is mainly due to a rise in prices of feed.  China's average retail price of pork in April is RMB7.92 for every 500 grams, a 1.67% higher than March. 


There are varying margins of increases in pork prices in more than half of the 36 cities and the increase is more significant in Wulumuqi, Guangzhou, Beijing, Fuzhou and Zhengzhou cities.  Pork prices in the afore-mentioned cities in April are 13.83%, 11.15%, 10.98%, 10.91% and 10.89% respectively higher than prices in March.
