Iran to export fish, shrimp worth US$250 million
In the current calendar year which began on March 20, Iran plans to export fish and shrimp worth US$250 million, the deputy agriculture minister said.
"The fishery organisation's budget has increased by 20% compared to the year before," the Mehr News Agency quotes Gholamreza Razzaqi as saying.
Some 4,000 tonnes of shrimp, valued at around US$17 million, was exported last year to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Lebanon, Australia and Spain, he said. He added that infrastructures have been provided to export 500 kilogrammes of caviar in the current year.
