Ukraine to export 18.5 million tonnes of grain
Ukraine might export 18.5 million tonnes of grain crops in the 2011/12 marketing year (July 2011 to June 2012), according to the forecast of USDA.
Wheat exports are forecast at 8.5 million tonnes, its production in 2011 is expected at 19 million tonnes, carryover as of the start of the marketing year 4.15 million tonnes.
Exports of feeder grain are expected at 10 million tonnes, of these 6.5 million tonnes of corn.
According to earlier news in the media, the USDA expected Ukraine to harvest 43.5 million tonnes of grain crops in 2011.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies of Ukraine predicts grain exports at 19 million or 20 million tonnes for 2011/12 MY.
The cabinet of ministers lifted corn export quotas on April 27.
