Ukraine's May 1 cattle population up 0.1%

The state statistics committee reported on Monday (May 14) that as of May 1, the number of cattle in Ukraine totalled 5.139 million, 0.1% more than on the same date last year.

The number of cows on the date was 2.625 million, 1.2% less than a year ago.

The number of pigs fell by 3.5% on the year to 7.5 million and the number of poultry increased by 1.5% to 199.59 million. The number of sheep and goats increased by 0.6% to 2.213 million.
