Russia's BasEl to increase grain sales by 2016

From 500,000 tonnes planned for 2012, Russia's Basic Element (BasEl) plans to increase grain sales to 1.5 million tonnes by 2016, Andrei Oleinik, managing director of the holding's agricultural sector, told reporters Monday (May 14).

However, the desired figure could be achieved even in 2014, Oleinik said.

BasEl also plans to increase its grain output to 700,000 tonnes by 2016 from 340,000 planned for 2012, as well as increase its area of cultivated land to 300,000 hectares from around 100,000 hectares currently.
